Lifelong Learning at Thomas Cook:
Hi,
My name is Adrian Blake and I am one of the TCXUnite Union Learner Representatives (ULR). Our purpose within the union is to provide our members with as much information, advice and guidance on the many opportunities the world of learning has to offer you.
Have you ever thought to yourself ‘I'd like to take a course / learn something new?' Perhaps a language course or to brush up on your computer skills? Are you taking redundancy or facing the possibility of compulsory redundancy? If so, have you thought about your next step? The ULRs can help. Whether it is the first time you are writing your CV or tweaking your existing one, you may have questions about what to include, how to word your CV or how to lay it out.
Did you know there are over 950,000 courses out there?
Here's a couple of useful links to get you started:
* UNION LEARN:
Check out their website or simply call their trained advisers for FREE impartial advice in complete confidence on 08000 92 91 90. Lines are open 7 days a week (8am-10pm). Calls are FREE from your landline. Union Learn has three levels of advisers to deal with your calls: information advisers, learning advisers and career coaches.
* GOV.UK
Get careers advice online or speak with a ‘National Careers Service’ adviser by calling 0800 100 900. Lines are open 7 days a week (8am-10pm). Calls are FREE from your landline. You can even request a free call-back at a time that suits you or make an appointment with an adviser at your nearest ‘Next Step’ office.
If you have already taken a course through
the above channels or have spoken to the advisers please get in touch and let
us know about your experiences or if you have any other suggestions or
comments. ULR contact details can be found by clicking on the tab above: ‘Rep
Contact Info’.
Whilst I am based at MAN, myself and the other ULRs are here to help our TCXUnite members across the UK – so please let us know if we can help you with any aspect of your learning or personal development……
Adrian
